Situation
As Project Engineer at Mokshya Tech, I inherited a portfolio of client IT projects where delivery timelines and budgets were inconsistent. Planning tended to happen informally, requirements were gathered without a structured process, and there wasn't a reliable way to see whether a project was on track until it was already close to a deadline.
What I Did
- 1.Introduced structured project planning using Jira and Trello, giving every project a visible timeline and budget from day one instead of tracking it informally.
- 2.Built a consistent process for liaising with cross-functional stakeholders — clients, vendors, developers, and support teams — to gather technical and business requirements up front rather than mid-project.
- 3.Facilitated sprint planning and daily stand-ups using Agile/Scrum methodologies across project teams, so blockers surfaced early rather than at the deadline.
- 4.Tracked resource allocation and vendor spend closely enough to catch inefficiencies and renegotiate where the numbers didn't add up.
Results
Delivered multiple projects with 90% on-time delivery and 10–15% cost savings through optimized resource planning and vendor negotiation. Just as importantly, clients experienced fewer surprises — status was visible throughout rather than only at the end — which translated into stronger client relationships and repeat engagement on future work.

What I Learned
Most delivery problems I encountered weren't really scheduling problems — they were visibility problems. Once stakeholders could actually see where a project stood at any point, the conversations about trade-offs happened earlier and more calmly, instead of turning into last-minute crises. The discipline of gathering requirements properly up front paid for itself many times over in avoided rework.
